Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 12, 2026
Overview
MorseDecoder ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information. The short version: we collect almost nothing, because almost everything happens on your device.
1. Information We Do Not Collect
We do not collect, store, or transmit:
- The text or Morse code you enter into the translator
- Audio you generate or download
- Your name, email address, or any account information (we have no accounts)
- Device identifiers, IP addresses, or fingerprinting data
- Browsing history on this site
All translation, audio synthesis, and learning data is processed entirely within your browser and never leaves your device.
2. Local Storage
We use your browser's localStorage to save:
- Your theme preference (dark or light mode)
- Daily challenge progress and streak (stored locally, not synced)
- Flashcard learning state for spaced repetition
This data stays on your device. Clearing your browser storage removes it entirely.
3. Cookies
We do not set any first-party cookies. If you access MorseDecoder through a hosting provider or CDN, that provider may set technical cookies for load balancing or security purposes. These are not used for tracking or advertising.
4. Analytics
We may use privacy-respecting, cookieless analytics (such as aggregate page view counts) to understand general usage patterns. If we do, no personally identifiable information is collected or shared. We do not use Google Analytics or other invasive tracking platforms.
5. Third Parties
We do not sell, trade, or share your information with third parties. We do not display third-party advertising.
6. Children's Privacy
MorseDecoder is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of the page will reflect any changes. Continued use of MorseDecoder after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
8. Contact
If you have questions about this privacy policy, please contact us or email hello@morsedot.com.
